You Won’t Believe What Medicare Just Did on Patient Engagement! | THCB

Was this a negotian or a coup ?  Did CMS pull a fast one on us? Or was it Congress?  We will never find out. In a period of time where openesss and transparency are touted by those is lofty places this event categorizes as a "FAIL"

Physicians for the last 15 or more years have fought mightly to eliminate the SGR (sustainable growth rate) adjustments to CMS reimbursements. It  has always been a down to the wire battle, and each time it was waived.  That battle was not hing compared to what providers must endure.

The current battle over Meaningful Use is ongoing as well.  CMS relented by upping the stakes authorizing MIPS and Macra as an answer to physician refusals to attest to meaningful use.  Now instead of eliminating MU Congress and CMS have added MACRA and MIPS  as there countermeasure.  It turns out that MACRA + MIPS > MU II .  Logical ?  Yes, if you are in Congress and/or HHS.
