The digital health space refers to the integration of technology and health care services to improve the overall quality of health care delivery. It encompasses a wide range of innovative and emerging technologies such as wearables, telehealth, artificial intelligence, mobile health, and electronic health records (EHRs). Health Information Interoperability continues to evolve attempting to integrate health data from all sources, hospitals, clinics, individual providers, group medical practices, pharmaceuticals, remote monitoring devices, and artificial intelligence, or LLMs. The challenge is formidable, and CMS provides some guidance, for better or worse they have provided a model of uniformity.

ONC’s information-blocking regulations support patients’ access to their electronic test results without unnecessary delay, and the health IT community continues to implement innovative approaches to support such access.
